Chieko Kojima is someone who inspires me. She has a wonderful energy and I really admire her as an artist and as a human.
Like many things in 2020, Kodo's Earth Celebration is going exclusively online! I'm sure that "it won't be the same as the usual festival", but I am really excited that I will be able to be a part of the event, in a small way, from a distance. Leading up to the main event, there have been some special online workshops, including a dance workshop with Chieko-san!
After reviewing practice videos, we danced together in the workshop and gained some finer details and explanations. There were dancers from all over the world who participated, and I think I was the only Canadian. I can't wait for a time when we can play taiko, fue, and dance Shunpuu together in person!
We've been asked to submit a video of ourselves for a special project for EC, so keep your eyes peeled and maybe you'll see a familiar face!
