Ever since I began reading about the Bella Concert Hall, I began to daydream about performing both Oboe and Taiko on the Bella Stage.
Acoustically amazing, the Bella incorporates structural elements that reflect our rural prairie heritage: barn frame, prairie rose, bee hives, the colours of Lake Louise. It's a fantastic venue!
Earlier this year, I was lucky to be invited to perform onstage on oboe as part of a small backup orchestra to the amazing Chris Hadfield when he performed and spoke. Recently, I was able to perform taiko for a small audience with the Artio choir at MRU: taiko for the first time in the Bella Concert Hall. It was very loud, but amazing. I can't wait to perform a taiko concert there one day.
