Canada Day at Heritage Park

We celebrated Canada’s 151st birthday at Heritage Park, with 2 performances!

Along with other Globalfest multicultural performers, we drummed and marched through the park as a display and celebration of Canada’s multiculturalism. the sun was shining as we played our okedo and uchiwa through the parade route and we saw many smiling faces and waving Canada flags.

After the new Premier of Alberta Jason Kenney gave a speech, we gave a stage performance in the park and a steam train went by! (Check out our Instagram for a video!) After our performance, we enjoyed the rest of the Canada Day activities before the dark rainclouds rolled in over the Glenmore reservoir and the rain poured down!
