Calgary Stampede Parade

Representing the Calgary Japanese Community Association, we collaborated with Yosoca yosakoi dance group and Midnight Taiko for a float in the Calgary Stampede Parade! We worked on our katsugi okedo skills and added our uchiwa dancing to put together taiko accompaniment with Midnight, and marched along the parade route with Yosoca dancing.

With lots of rain coming down in the days leading up to the parade, we had to work to waterproof all of our drums and bachi so that nothing would get wet or damaged! The sound was quite dampened, but we stayed dry!
